Evolution
Dirty Dog Sunglasses was founded in 1980 by a collective of leading scientists and designers. From the dedication and innovation of these scientists, a sunglass unsurpassed in style and performance has evolved with the discovery of TR90 - a lightweight and virtually unbreakable compound. Dirty Dog’s scientific research department was able to provide our design team with a material at the leading edge of sunglass technology. Our designers set about rigorously testing frames composed of TR90 while our scientists then experimented with lens technology. Attempting to create the complete sunglass, polyfilter polycarbonate, a virtually shatterproof material which blocks 100% of UV rays, was the result of the lens experimentation. The lenses are decenterised for optimum visual performance. A TR90 frame with a polycarbonate lens allowed the Design Team to create contemporary styles without sacrificing strength or performance. The team had come up with the most forward thinking high performance sunglass yet, an achievement that is maintained today. Dirty Dog is in demand from successful sports people as a sunglass that can be relied on to perform in extreme conditions. When an athlete is pushing their body to the limit, they can be confident their eyewear is not going to fail them. Canadians share many interests with our Kiwi and Aussie friends; we tend to choose brands that allow us to express our style through the great outdoors and the sports we play. Dirty Dog is cool and funky, and is outstanding performance eyewear for full sun protection, in any sport, on land or sea.
